Someday Sunday: Pinto Art Museum

I've been to Pinto Art Museum thrice.

A year ago, one of my friends introduced me to this museum. It was love at first sight.

*These photos were taken using an iphone 4

The one thing I remember from that first trip to Pinto, aside from the memory of getting lost while finding the place even though my friend's already been there once, was the eerie music from one of the rooms that we entered. It was like a horror/thriller movie was coming alive right when we stepped inside the room. Sadly though, the last time I visited, that room was already converted into a cafeteria of some sort.  :(

The next time I visited Pinto was with my boyfriend last January of this year. Although I brought my Nikon D3100, we ended up taking lots of photos using my iphone 5s because we didn't have a tripod. We took lots of photos of each other, fell in love with the art around us and celebrated our nth month together.

The third time I visited Pinto, my boyfriend and I brought two cameras and decided to put a label to this kind of date that we usually do; a photowalk date. The plan was to just take photos of whatever we wanted and maybe take a photo or two of each other. I don't know if it was my PMS that day or the extra spicy burrito I ate for lunch but I didn't want my boyfriend to take photos of my face. Every time he took a photo of me, I would put my camera in front of my face as some sort of shield. Since I already saw my best friend's cousin do it (in Pinto also, actually), I've decided that maybe it's not a bad idea to just take photos of each other while taking photos of each other. Ha! #photoception

I don't know if there's a legit name for this kind of photos but I like calling them perspective shots.

For me, Pinto is not the kind of place that you only visit once and forget about. Pinto is more like a nice, quiet library with lots and lots and lots of books (more like Beast's library in Beauty and the Beast) - no matter how many books you borrow and take home with you, the experience of reading the book in that library will never be the same as in any other place. No matter how many photos you take of the beautiful pieces of art, the experience of seeing them in that place is just different. I don't know if it's just me or the fresh mountain air, but being in Pinto is like breathing in art. Like literally breathing in the beauty so it becomes a part of you. I'd like to breathe more of that air.

Someday, I'd like to get married in Pinto.
